A Very Caring Lady
An Interview with Nana
By Ella K.
My nana is a passionate, caring lady. She is always there for me, whether picking me up from school or just coming over to talk. She has influenced many of my beliefs and has greatly inspired me.
My nana has always persevered and worked hard. Though she was a bank manager for many years, she still found time to spend with me. I would go to her house almost every week and have fun with her. She often brought me to a farm where we could look at the animals. She cares for me if my parents are busy.
I never knew many of the things I just learned about my nana. For example, she looked up to her sister. She is very proud of her family and their accomplishments. She admires the families that they have formed and the life that they have for themselves. She is a proud grandma when she hears my goals for life. My nana is very caring and one of the nicest people I know!
Who influenced you during your childhood?
When I was growing up, I had only one sister. She was almost three years older than me. Of course, growing up we played together. I always looked up to her, and she influenced me. Sometimes this was good, but sometimes we would get in trouble.
How did your sister change your perspective, goals, or actions in your life?
She was bolder in talking and socializing. She would give me the courage to do things. When I was little, I was more shy. Her influence was usually positive, but sometimes she did things we could get in trouble for. So, I didn’t always do everything she did.
Do you think she helped you become the person you are today?
Yes, she helped, and I also think my parents helped. Growing up, my parents were Christians. They took us to church and we learned that there is a God who loves us all.
What advice do you have for future generations?
There is more stuff than ever going on in the world today, and a lot of that is because we can communicate. We hear all kinds of ideas, and it is important that people see the truth for themselves. I also hope people can come to religion. I believe that there is a God and that he loves all of us. I believe everyone will have a better life if they listen to Him. Life isn’t always perfect, but this helps.
Are there any lessons or values from your life that you want to pass on to future generations?
It is a hard lesson to learn, but I want future generations to understand that everything we do has consequences. You may think that one action is a great idea, but it could come back to haunt you. You can be forgiven, but this doesn’t change the consequences. You should make wise choices because your actions always have consequences.
